Your Thoughts, My Silence

Does your heart scream with content while ignoring me?
Or is there a pain not understood by the mind?
When I run across your mind, do you nonchalantly allow me to roam?
Or do you cease all thinking, refusing to answer the ache that yells inside?

I envy your silence,
Or is it your numbness?
I detest your eyes,
Or is it that I am not able to stand when I peer into them?

You never witness my tear-streaked face,
But it lies in wait.
The mask of my upturned lips prevent a view,
And my lungs do not contain the oxygen needed to scream their will,
But my head is ill with its' pain.

You are ignorant of my worries,
But stab at me they do.
You have experienced hurt,
And you must force your mind silent,
But it is mine that refuses to cease or forget.
